A Notice to the Residents of Lewis Estates
The Lewis Estates Community League Board has received a request from the golf course to post the following statement:
To the Residents of Lewis Estates,
A number of Homeowners have altered the Golf Course perimeter chain link fence and constructed a gate to allow access to the Golf Course property. This notice is to remind all residents that the fence is on Golf Course property and is part of the Golf Course. It was erected for safety purposes to prevent homeowner’s from wandering onto the course which is private property and putting themselves in an unsafe situation where injury could occur from flying golf balls, moving machinery, etc. This also prevents golfers from entering the homeowner’s yard to retrieve errant golf balls. All residential lots that have their property backing onto the golf course have a Restrictive Covenant registered on their Lot Title which prohibits altering the chain link golf course fence in any way. We would therefore appreciate residents taking remedial steps, for their safety and for the safety of golfers, to remove the gate and return the fence to its original state prior to the course opening this spring.
If the gate has not been removed prior to the course opening, our maintenance personnel will be instructed to padlock all unauthorized gates that have been constructed in the perimeter fencing to ensure inadvertent access to the course or their yard is prevented.
